5 Big College Football Storylines Heading Into Week 3

As the college football season goes into week 3, many storylines are beginning to take shape. From many teams trying to bounce back, to others trying to shock yet again, it definitely is interesting to see how week 3 will shape out.

College Football Week 3 Storylines

USF Upset Again?

A massive college football storyline this week will definitely be how the USF Bulls will play the Miami Hurricanes on the road. Of course, it is already tough, considering USF is in the group of 5 and Miami is in the ACC, ranked No. 5. However, it only gets more interesting… USF has defeated two ranked opponents to begin the season and is ranked No. 18 now in the AP Top 25. One has to wonder: can the Bulls do it again, this time against a top five team? This could almost guarantee that the Bulls are the top team in the country when it comes to the group of 5.

Billy Edwards Likely Out, Alabama Looks to Rebound

Another very big storyline will be how the Alabama Crimson Tide will handle the Wisconsin Badgers. The Badgers will be without their starting QB, Billy Edwards Jr. and have looked average offensively in the first two weeks. Defensively, maybe the Badgers have something they can do. However, this matchup spells blowout for everyone despite Alabama being 1-1 with the loss against the Florida State Seminoles. All eyes will be on how Alabama will handle its second prominent opponent.

Florida Looks to Rebound Massively With Season On the Line

As the Florida Gators remain out of the Top 25 for now, the Gators will look to save their season against the LSU Tigers. Unfortunately for Florida, with what many consider to be the hardest schedule in the nation, unless the Gators prove they can win a ranked team, this season is very much so on the line. LSU meanwhile will look to get a convincing victory and prove that they deserve to be in the top three and deserve to be considered one of the best teams in the country.

Multiple Teams Look to Prove They Belong in the Top 25

This weekend will also be interesting in terms of seeing who can prove they belong in the Top 25. This includes the BYU Cougars, the USC Trojans, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Other than the USC Trojans, both Nebraska and BYU will take on relatively easy opponents with Houston Christian and East Carolina, while USC takes on the formerly 1-11 Purdue Boilermakers. All of these teams have so far been snubbed from the rankings despite good, and some might say excellent starts to the season. Overall, these teams have some- well, damage to do on Saturday.

Ranked Matchups To Shake Up College Football

On Saturday, there will be three matchups between ranked teams. This include USF at Miami, Texas A&M at Notre Dame, and Georgia at Tennessee. This simply put means that many teams could very well have their seasons decided now. The No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs are interesting case, considering the fact that it feels like a season geared towards failure with a lot of new faces. Other teams, like the Texas A&M Aggies and the Tennessee Volunteers seek a shot at domination. Both teams weren’t seen as being among the best in the SEC, and overall, these matchups could prove why.

Week 3 of college football definitely will be intriguing to see with so many teams being tested. Week 3 is still the early part of the season, the part where teams find out who they truly can be. This week is no different with teams trying to find out who deserves to be seen as being among the best. There will be no shortage of excitement this Saturday…
