The 2016/17 PL season was full of breathtaking matches and sumptuous football. But there were some players who stole the show and completely dominated the game.

Certain players completely changed these games with their individual brilliance, quality, skills and ability. These performances will be remembered fondly for years to come by the fans of these clubs.

Here are five of the best individual performances in the 2016-17 PL season.

5 Best Individual Performances of the 2016-17 PL Season

5. Maarten Stekelenburg vs Manchester City (15 October, 2016)

The Dutchman may not be the first choice at his club anymore but his performance against Manchester City was one of the best goalkeeping performances of the season. Stekelenburg made save after save as he thwarted City’s stronger attacking threats. He made some breathtaking saves and stopped two penalties as Manchester City were forced to settle for a draw.

4. Alexis Sanchez vs West Ham (3 December, 2016)

The Chilean was Arsenal’s best player last season. And his performance against West Ham United at the Olympic Stadium will give their defenders nightmares for years to come. The 28-year old was unplayable and ran the show against a sorry West Ham defense. Sanchez scored a stunning hat-trick and set one up for Mesut Ozil as Arsenal won 5-1. His three goals came in just a 15 minute period in the second half as the Gunners ran riot. It was one of the most ruthless performances of the season as Sanchez showed again why he is world-class.

3. Eden Hazard vs Arsenal (07 February, 2017)

Hazard put in a performance of the highest quality in the big London derby against Arsenal. His pace and movement made him impossible to deal with for the Gunners as they were beaten 3-1. His goal will be remembered by Chelsea fans for years to come. He started his run from inside his own half, slipping and dribbling past three Arsenal players before guiding the ball past a hapless Petr Cech’s net.

2. Ander Herrera vs Chelsea (16 April, 2017)

The Spaniard enjoyed his best year since coming to Manchester United under Jose Mourinho this season. And few will argue that his performance against Chelsea was his best in a United shirt. Herrera gave a complete performance as he dominated both defense and attack. His superb through ball to Rashford created United’s first goal. Before he scored early in the second half to seal the victory. His performance will however be remembered for his man-marking job on Chelsea star Eden Hazard. His efficient tackling and interceptions nullified the Chelsea attack and gave United a memorable victory.

1. Harry Kane vs Leicester City (19 May, 2017)

Harry Kane showed just why he is one of the best strikers in the Premier League with a stunning performance against Leicester City. The Englishman scored FOUR goals in a performance where he showed his sheer class and precision. The 23-year old is a lethal finisher and at the KCOM stadium he toyed with Leicester’s defense who just could not handle him. Kane won the Premier League Golden Boot, scoring 29 goals in just 30 league games this season. This was also the third season in a row where he scored 20+ goals in a season.
