5 Late Offseason Free Agents the Jaguars Should Target for 2025 Season

Just because it’s a month after the NFL draft doesn’t mean there still aren’t solid free agents out there to take a look at. Also, not all of the offseason needs have been taken care of, and they still can be taken care of. Without further ado, here are the top remaining free agents the Jaguars should target.

The best remaining 2025 free agents the Jaguars could target

TE Marcedes Lewis

This could be a wave of nostalgia for Jaguar fans.

The last remaining active Jaguars 2000s draft pick and last remaining draft pick of the 2006 NFL Draft hopes to play one more season in the NFL, and as the 41-year-old tight end, he could return for his 20th and final season with the Jaguars in 2025 and be the veteran mentor for Brendon Strange, who is set to be the main tight end for the Jags. Also, it would be cool to see him play his 300th career NFL game in a Jaguars uniform.

WR Keenan Allen

Keenan Allen could take the role of Gabe Davis and be that veteran presence that helps Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, and Dymani Brown. The 6-time Pro Bowler was like a Pro Bowler in 2023 and is 33 but with no signs of slowing down.

The best wide receiver left in free agency could be a nice short-term development slot receiver that feels comfortable in Liam Coen’s offense. Allen, according to Pro Football Focus, in 2024 was 17th in, 18th in touchdowns and 39th in receiving yards out of 98 receivers.

Julian Blackman

I don’t see the veteran face for the Jaguars defensive back, And I am not the only one predicting Julian Blackmon to the Colts.

So is Bleacher Report NFL analyst Moe Moton, who says,

“In 2024, the Jaguars gave up the most passing yards and logged the third-fewest interceptions(six). They signed Eric Murray, but he has only three interceptions in nine seasons. Darnell Savage has two interceptions over the last three years. Jacksonville needs a game-changer at safety. Julian Blackmon has registered seven interceptions over the previous two terms, and he can play both safety spots.”

No arguments from him there.

Also, after a start to his career plagued with injuries, Blackmon these past 2 seasons is finally showing his awe. Blackman, according to Pro Football Focus, ranks 23rd out of 171 safeties in “Pass Rush” and “Coverage Grade.” In 2024, he ranked 12th in safeties in interceptions and 21st in solo tackles.

Dalton Risner

Dalton Risner could follow his Vikings assistant offensive coordinator Grant Udinski to Jacksonville. Guard is still in need. IMO, in Jacksonville and Risner, I feel like he couldn’t be a good mentor to Wyatt Milum alongside Patrick Mekari and be at least a good upgrade from Cooper Hodges.

Injuries have prevented him from reaching his full potential, but in 10 games in 2024, he allowed no penalties and no sacks.

Among 136 guards, according to Pro Football Focus, Risner is still ranked 13th in pass blocking and was 38th in hits allowed in 2024.

Jack Driscoll

This is someone who can switch between guard and offensive tackle and someone who was with Liam Coen at UMass when he was pass game coordinator and quarterback coach.

There are the typical injury problems, which could be why we have not seen him yet sign with a team, but according to Pro Football Focus, among guards, he is 26th out of 136 guards in overall grade. He was also 38th out of 136 in pass blocking, 33rd out of 136 in run blocking and only allowed 1 sack and no penalties in 13 games played in 2024.

So there you go. These are my top 5 free agents the Jaguars should look at in the 2025 late offseason period.
