2026 NFL Playoffs: Three Most Dangerous NFC Teams

The 2025-26 NFL Playoffs are here. It was a wacky season showing shades of the early 2010s. However, it should be fun playoff. Here are three of the most dangerous teams in the NFC side of the bracket.

Three Most Dangerous NFC Teams In The 2026 NFL Playoffs

3. San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers may not have gotten enough national attention for the season they are having this year. The 49ers will finish with one of the best records in the NFL after having an injury-riddled season. The 49ers have lost Nick Bosa and Fred Warner to season-ending injuries, and players such as Brock Purdy and George Kittle have missed significant time at various points during this season, but it hasn’t mattered.

Right now, the 49ers have had one of the hottest offenses in the NFL the last few weeks. They have scored over 35 points three times, including games in which they scored 48 and 42 points. Christian McCaffrey should get Offensive Player of the Year consideration after he closes in on his second season of 1,000 yards receiving and 1,000 yards rushing from the running back spot. Purdy is also playing quarterback at a high level. SF can outscoure any opponent they could face in the playoffs, which makes them one of the most dangerous NFC teams.

The 49ers will go on the road to face the Eagles in a game in the wildcard round, and that is a game the 49ers can certainly win.

2. Green Bay Packers

The Packers are locked into the seventh seed in the NFC playoffs, and they have a good chance of matching up with the Chicago Bears for the third time this season. Both matchups were classics, with each team splitting a game. In the second game, Jordan Love was hurt, and it took a big overtime effort from the Bears to win the game.

Love will be back and healthy for the playoffs, and that means the Packers’ offense is capable of going on a run in the playoffs. The defense has taken a big hit after star Micah Parsons tore his ACL; however, the Packers are still solid enough on defense to get the proper stops they need. And even if the defense isn’t great in the playoffs, head coach Matt LaFleur and Love will be able to make things happen if they get into a shootout with another team.

1. Los Angeles Rams

The Rams will be a wildcard team, and despite that, many national pundits believe the Rams are a top-five team in the NFL. They will go into the postseason with an MVP candidate in quarterback Matthew Stafford, one of the best receivers in the NFL in Puka Nacua, and a coach who has already won a Super Bowl in Sean McVay.

The Rams have had stretches this season where they’ve looked dominant, and on most sportsbooks, they are either the favorite or second favorite for the Super Bowl, even as a wildcard team. They will have to go on the road for three straight games to reach the Super Bowl, but if any team can do it, it’s the Rams, who boast the second-best point differential in the entire NFL, right behind the Seahawks, who hold the top seed in the NFC and are a team the Rams have already beaten once this season.
