Analysis

The first team edge at quarterback went to Josh Allen, though it was close. That spot is normally reserved for the quarterback who will take home the MVP award for that year, and it looks to be Allen’s award to win this season. Saquon Barkley will be a new-brainer selection for the first team running back, as will Derrick Henry as the two clear-cut running backs who deserve to be selected. Chase leads the way at the receiver position after a stellar year where he could end up winning the prestigious Triple-Crown award, leading the league in catches, receiving yards, and touchdowns.

In the trenches, Dion Dawkins got the nod at first team left tackle as the Bills allow the lowest sack percentage of any team this season, and they allow the lowest amount of sacks per game.

Defensively, Surtain leads the defensive back selections as Surtain is in the running to be the Defensive Player of the Year this season. Zack Baun makes an appearance as a linebacker, as he has been one of the biggest surprises on the defensive end this season. Baun was signed to play edge rusher but was moved to linebacker and ended up being one of the best this season. Even though Kerby Joseph didn’t get a Pro Bowl nod, he gets the first team nod at safety.

On the second-team offense, rookie Brian Thomas Jr. gets one of the nods at receiver. Simply put, he was one of the six best wider receivers this season. He was fifth in receiving yards on the season and also tied for fifth in touchdowns. Terry McLaurin had an incredible season for the Washington Commanders and has a chance to surpass the franchise record for most touchdowns for the season.

Fellow Rookie Brock Bowers made the second team after a historic rookie season. Bowers has broken the rookie receptions record to go along with the most reception yards for a tight end as a rookie. He’s been arguably the best player at his position as a rookie.

The rookie Quinyon Mitchell gets the selection on the second team at cornerback. Derek Stingley has more than enough of a case to be on the first team at corner; however, on this projected list, he ended up on the second team.

Joe Burrow would make the “just missed the cut list.”  Burrow has had his best season to date, leading the league in passing yards and passing touchdowns. He is the second-highest-graded quarterback on Pro Football Focus and if it were not for Allen and Jackson’s seasons he’d be a All-Pro.
